In Greene County district court a judgment for a $105 fine with a $15.75 surcharge was entered against Whitney Case, 38, of Jefferson, after she pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct- abusive epithets/threatening gesture, amended from domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. The court found her unable to pay court costs or restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Wayne Eugene Royer, 43, of Scranton was sentenced to five years in prison, with credit for time served, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of sex offender area/activity violation- second offense. The prison term is concurrent to a Carroll County sentence on a sex offender registry violation. He was fined $1,025 with a $153;75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay restitution not to exceed $900 for his court appointed attorney’s fees. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Cade Enriquez Brincks, 20, of Carroll was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He must pay a $1,250 civil penalty. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year and he must perform 40 hours of community service. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must also complete a community college drinking drivers course. Court costs were $140. Kayleigh Lynn Anderson, 22, of Boone was sentenced to two years in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of child endangerment, amended from serious injury by vehicle. The jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Anderson was sentenced to one year in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but 180 days was suspended and she will be allowed work release privileges. She was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half were waived as she has already obtained a temporary restricted license. Anderson was sentenced to six months in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana; the sentenced was suspended. She has completed a substance abuse evaluation and must complete any recommended treatment. She has also completed a community college drinking drivers school. She was fined $430 with a $65.50 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Anderson must pay $2,699.57 victim restitution. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Alexander Scott Brant, 36, of Boone, child endangerment; Shelby Ann Perez, 30, of Scranton, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness; Raelyn Ann Holmgaard, 40, of Churdan, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness; and Jacob P. Labate, 28, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated. Trial dates were set for Aug. 27 for Perez and Labate, and for Nov. 5 for Brant and Holmgaard.
Cases were initiated during the week ending July 19 as follows: Christopher Ray Brotherson, 55, of Breda, criminal mischief- second degree; Karmen Andrea Carroll, 31, of Jefferson, interference with official acts- bodily injury; Michael James Wagoner, 41, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault of pregnant person with intent to inflict serious injury, and interference with official acts- dangerous weapon Andrew Vernon Wempe, 41, of Scranton, driving while license barred; and Kyle Dean Rysavy, 25, of Jefferson, harassment- second degree.
